Do we really look a little alike
One day not too long ago one of my decorator friends stopped by to ask me a question about something.
I had just purchased a new wallet and had emptied all of the contents of my old one on to the kitchen counter. My old one had contained so many old photos and I was looking thru all of them to see if I really needed to keep Ian’s 4th grade photo or Justin’s High School Sophmore football picture.
She, my friend was chatting away and moving about the room when she spotted a photo of Anna on the fridge door.
She went right over to this photo from my collection ..this picture was actually was cropped from a photo of John and I taken by my sister on the day Justin was born..
I have always kept it with me. She, my friend said with tremendous excitment ”look at this”, okay I said I’m looking , don’t you see how much you two look alike she asked?
I must admit that I had never thought of it ..
Everyone used to say that Marta was my twin..my mother, my sister.. my friends and office mates.
I didn’t think she was, although we do have a similar look.
She has her mothers shaped eyes or her Uncle Apps, my eye color and perhaps face shape, my hair and most would agree like it or not my “persona”…
I always thought that Anna looked much like Justin only with light blonde hair ..She is built exactly like my grandmother Maria..and Justin is built much like my father so I guess that she gets that from him.
I don’t really know … she is her fathers daughter for sure but she has a side that is much more forward thinking, she is more of a planner ..as Aunt Suzie says she is more like her mother.
Well I’m just putting this out there …what do you all think?
The haircuts match ..
Pat Petrone insists that John (your father) looks exactly like George Clooney.
I wonder what makes people see what they see.
My favorite is when people would say that light haired blue eyed Ian “looks just like his Dad”.(John)
How crazy are people and what prism do they look thru.
If you remember when you were here at Christmas another one of my decorators said this about Anna & Me, you were standing outside wih both girls when she said it.
I remember saying you mean Marta becaus emost people say that.
I personally don’t see it…but hey who knows.
It’s hard to tell. Sometimes I look at Marta and she looks like old photos of me. Sometimes not. I think people like to tell fathers that their children look like them. It’s way of saying, “She’s really yours.”
If you look at Marta she has the same shaped eyes as Andres. She has that puffyness area under her eyes too. Everyone in my office thinks she is my clone and we do have a similar look but I think it is her personality that makes her seem so much like me.
Anna looks alot like you but there is a photo of Epp’s mom that looks a bit like Anna too.
Dad looks like Rosa (his grandmother) I look like my father and Ken with blonde hair and blue eyes.
Ian is Joe & Bob Ericksen…
Liam is Ian with Suzies eyes. and dark hair.
I wonder who Madeleine will look like?
